Asked Questions
Frequently

Can we have fresh flowers on our cake?

Q

All the flowers on our cakes are made from sugar. This is the central feature of our artistry and style. Sugar flowers can be arranged in ways that fresh flowers cannot, which gives us true artistic freedom when creating our designs. They also have no limitations in terms of availability or season and are free from the toxicity associated with a lot of fresh flower varieties. Best of all, they will last forever, so you can keep them as a memento of your special day.

A

Do you make allergy free cakes?

Q

All the flavours on our signature menu contain gluten, eggs and diary, and some contain nuts and alcohol. Although we can amend selected recipes to cater for some dietary requirements on request, all our cakes are made in a kitchen where these allergens are present, and we therefore we are unable to guarantee severe allergy sufferers that they are 100% allergen free.

A

Will you deliver our cake?

Q

Absolutely, we personally deliver all our cakes. Wedding cakes can be extremely fragile and very heavy, and a great deal of care and expertise is required when packaging, transporting and assembling them. Larger cakes and designs featuring a lot of sugar flowers or complex structures will be assembled on site. Delivery fees will be determined by the distance from our studio to the venue and the amount of time necessary to assemble your cake.

A

How much will my wedding cake cost?

Q

Since each project is unique, the price will be determined by a variety of different factors and calculated on an individual basis. Please refer to our pricing guide for further guidance.

A

How big does my cake need to be?

Q

Ultimately, a wedding cake can be any size you want it to be! Usually, the size is guided by the number of guests, the number of the portions required and whether the cake is being served as a plated dessert or later in the day. This will be discussed in detail during your design consultation.

A

Can we have more than one flavour?

Q

Certainly! Lots of couples opt to have different flavours on different tiers.

A

How far in advance do we need to order our cake?

Q

As far in advance as possible! We recommend getting in touch with us as soon as you have booked your venue. As a small artisan studio, we only take on a limited number of commissions a year which means our diary gets booked up extremely quickly, particularly in peak wedding season.

A

Do you make semi naked or naked cakes?

Q

No. All our cakes are covered in a thin layer of white chocolate ganache and a thin layer of premium Swiss fondant. This ensures your wedding cake will be structurally sound in the heat of summer months whilst providing a limitless blank canvass for beautiful decoration.

A

Do you supply stands?

Q

Most wedding venues are able to provide a cake stand. However, they are often very traditional looking and may not be appropriate for the style of your cake.  A suggested stand will be included as part of your sketch design which will be procured for you and will be yours to keep.

A

Do you make other types of cakes?

Q

Although most of our work is for weddings, we are very happy to discuss other projects. The same prices will apply no matter what the occasion, we do not charge a premium for weddings.
